On plans that include online payments, you can let customers pay an invoice through Square. Payments go directly to your own Square account — RepairBench never holds your funds.

Get your Square credentials

Log in at developer.squareup.com, open (or create) an application, and from its dashboard copy:

  • Access Token — use the Sandbox token while testing or the Production token when live. Keep it private.
  • Location ID — listed under Locations for your account.

Enter them in RepairBench

Go to Settings → Online Payments. Paste your Square Access Token and Location ID, tick Enable online invoice payments (Square), and save. Leave Square test mode (sandbox) on while testing, and turn it off to take real payments.

How it works

Each unpaid invoice offers a Pay with Square option. The customer pays on a secure Square-hosted page and is returned to the invoice, which is marked paid automatically once Square confirms the payment.

Testing first

With sandbox mode on, use Square's sandbox test cards to run a payment through, then switch to your production token and turn sandbox off.
